"Damnation" is my favourite VANANIDR album so far. The band still follows the path of melodic black metal and became expert in creating atmosphere without using synthesizers. The songs have mainly a lively pace and they are more sophisticated or to the point in terms of songwriting. There are several catchy tunes to check this mighty opus out. Listen for example to "Distilled", "Hunter", "Tides of Blood" or the haunting "Void". It will not be easy to top this release again with the next one!
